Mehmet Erkan Ustun is a distinguished neurosurgeon

graduating from Hacettepe University School of Medicine in 1986, he completed
his neurosurgical training at Ankara University, Avicenna Hospital, in 1992,
where he trained under leading specialists in functional neurosurgery. He was
appointed Professor of Neurosurgery in 2009 and earned his PhD in Anatomy in
2011. Alongside standard neurosurgical procedures, he specializes in advanced
functional surgeries for migraine and vertigo, stroke and cerebral palsy,
epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease, tremor, spasticity, restless legs syndrome,
dementia, and psychiatric disorders, as well as reinnervation surgery for
traumatic spinal cord injuries and peripheral nerve palsies. With over 500
SCI-indexed citations, Dr. Ustun is widely recognized for his significant
academic and clinical contributions to the field.
