Title: Ear Barotrauma in Divers: Diagnosis, Management, and Prognosis – A Literature Review
Rodos
Hawrami is a fourth-year medical student with a strong interest in
otolaryngology, particularly conditions affecting the ear and nose. He recently
completed a literature review on ear barotrauma in divers, focusing on
diagnosis, management, and prognosis, which strengthened his interest in how
ENT practice addresses pressure-related and functional disorders. Alongside his
academic work, he has undertaken a variety of hospital placements, gaining
exposure to both medical and surgical specialties, and developing skills in
critical appraisal and evidence-based practice. Beyond medicine, Rodos is also
a content creator, sharing insights into student life and the medical journey,
and he actively supports students from widening participation backgrounds
through mentoring and guidance. His long-term aspiration is to pursue a career
in ENT surgery, with a focus on conditions affecting hearing, balance, and the
upper airway, while contributing to research, education, and widening access to
medicine.
