Dr Paul PG,   MBBS, DGO

Chairman of  Paul’s Hospital, Kaloor, Kochi -682017 (Since 2003)

 

Pioneering work in gynaecological laparoscopy in India

  • Performed the first Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy in Kerala in 1992, first Laparoscopic Microtubal Anastomosis in India 1996
  • Performed over 30,000 advanced laparoscopic procedures

Teaching

  • ‘Hands-on training” to more than 1600 gynaecologists in Gynaecological laparoscopy from India and abroad
  • Given 416 invited Lectures in India & Abroad 
  • Performed 243 Live surgery workshops in India & Abroad 

Publications

  • Authored a Book – Manual of Operative Laparoscopy (1998)
  • Contributed chapters in 41 books on endoscopy
  • Published 51 research papers in International journals including 3 invited  review articles

 

New laparoscopic surgical techniques

  • In-bag morcellation for fibroids to avoid dissemination of potential malignant tissues,
  • Laparoscopic Tubal anastomosis with Barbed Suture

 

International affiliations/recognitions

  • Elected member, SRS, American society of reproductive medicine(ASRM) since 1997
  • Board member of International Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (ISGE) 2012-16
  • Invited as faculty for the annual AAGL  congress in 2016
