Foetal Development

Fetal Development is the remarkable process of growth and maturation that occurs during pregnancy, typically lasting about 40 weeks. In the first trimester, major systems and structures, including the heart, brain, and limbs, begin to form as the embryo develops into a recognizable fetus. During the second trimester, the fetus experiences rapid growth, with distinct features developing and movements becoming noticeable to the mother. Organs continue to mature, and by this stage, the sex of the fetus can often be determined. In the third trimester, significant growth continues, organ functions mature, and the fetus positions itself head-down in preparation for birth. Regular prenatal care is essential for monitoring the health and development of both the fetus and the mother throughout this critical period.
