Biography

Abir Tazim Chowdhury is a Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon at Evercare Hospital Dhaka, the first JCI-accredited hospital in Bangladesh. He completed his MBBS (Honors in Medicine) from Jalalabad Ragib Rabeya Medical College and Hospital in 2011, followed by an internship in 2012. In 2020, he earned an MS in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka, becoming one of the youngest individuals to achieve this distinction. He was awarded the Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) in 2024.Chowdhury has extensive training in General and Laparoscopic Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Neurosurgery, Pediatric Surgery, Cardiology, and Critical Care Medicine. He received advanced overseas training in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at Narayana Super Specialized Hospital, India, and CVSKL, Malaysia. With vast experience across prestigious institutions like NICVD, Dhaka Medical College, and BSMMU, he has performed 1,500+ cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgeries. His expertise includes CABG, valve surgery, congenital heart disease surgery, aortic aneurysm repair, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, and Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS). Chowdhury is an active speaker and has delivered numerous talks and lectures at national and international conferences and platforms. He has authored 30+ research papers and is a peer reviewer for global publishers. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the Latin American Association of Cardiac and Endovascular Surgery (LACES), the Bangladesh Cardiac Society, and the Australia and New Zealand Society of Cardio-Thoracic Surgeons.
