Coagulation Disorders

Coagulation Disorders are conditions that affect the blood’s ability to clot properly, leading to either excessive bleeding or abnormal clot formation. Common disorders include hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, and thrombophilia. These conditions can be inherited or acquired and may result from genetic mutations, liver disease, vitamin K deficiency, or medications. Diagnosis involves blood coagulation tests and factor assays, while treatment includes replacement therapy, anticoagulants, or other targeted interventions to restore normal clotting function.
