Neurooncology is a subspecialty that is concerned with the treatment of both primary and metastatic brain tumors,spinal cord disorders related to cancer and treatment, paraneoplastic disorders affecting the nervous system, as well as cancer treatment related complications that pertain to the central and peripheral nervous system. This field comprises of glial neoplasms, nonglial tumors, metastatic tumors, and paraneoplastic complications relevant to the nervous system. Neuro surgical oncology deals with the study of surgeries for the treatment of various brain and spinal tumors.
