Neuropsychology is a specialty in
professional psychology that applies principles of assessment and intervention
based upon the scientific study of human behaviour as it relates to normal and
abnormal functioning of the central nervous system. Neuropsychology is the
scientific discipline that brings together the fields of neurology and
psychology. Clinical neuropsychologists are specialists who
understand the cognitive, emotional and behavioural effects of brain-based
conditions such as dementia, stroke, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy,
autism-spectrum conditions, multiple sclerosis and psychiatric disorders.
