Gene Therapy and Tissue Engineering

A gene that is install straight  into a cell usually does not work. Instead, a carrier called a vector is genetically engineered to deliver the gene. Certain viruses are often used as vectors because they can deliver the upcoming gene by contaminate the cell. Gene therapy is prototype to initiate genetic material into cells to compensate for abnormal genes or to make a beneficial protein, gene therapy may be able to introduce a normal copy of the gene to restore the function of the protein. Tissue engineering bothered with the development of biological substitutes efficient of replacing diseased or damaged tissue in humans. Tissue engineering integrates biological components, such as cells and growth factors, with engineering principles and synthetic materials.
