Denis Hyams-Ssekasi joined the university in April 2015, bringing over 12 years of experience in delivering Business and Management courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs within UK higher education. Previously, he served as a senior lecturer, module leader, and course coordinator for Management and Leadership programs at the University of Huddersfield.
Denis holds an impressive array of qualifications, including undergraduate honors and postgraduate degrees in Human Resource Management, Management, Business Administration, and Education, alongside a formal teaching qualification. As a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, he demonstrates a deep commitment to academic excellence and professional standards.
With a proven track record of enhancing student learning and development, he has actively contributed to student research on topics such as flexible working, employee engagement, and workplace behavior. Denis has also led several impactful teaching and learning initiatives, including personal development planning, employability, and mentoring projects.
His research interests include Strategic Management and Leadership, Entrepreneurship, High-Performance Work Systems, Employee Performance, Internationalization, Outsourcing, International Transitions, Intercultural Communications, and social impacts. Through both teaching and research, Denis continues to make a significant contribution to the field of business and management.
