Biogas from landfills is a valuable renewable energy resource when purified into biomethane, a drop-in replacement for fossil natural gas. Biomethane production from landfills benefits landfill operators via the earning of royalites and benefits the environment though the reduction of fugitive methane emissions to atmosphere. Landfill biogas is a complex mixture of gases including CH4, CO2, N2, O2 and other trace contaminants which must be removed in order to produce pipeline quality biomethane for injection into gas networks.
WAGA Energy is a pure player in landfill gas upgrading and leverages WAGABOX® technology and WAGA Energy’s business model to deliver reliable, long-term, high revenues for landfill owners. With 31 operational projects worldwide, 19 in build and a large pipeline of projects in Europe, North America, Canada and the UK, WAGA Energy is positioning itself to be the leading producer of landfill biomethane worldwide.
