Title: Development of latency reversal agents for HIV cure/remission
Dr. Guochun Jiang is a tenure-track assistant
professor in UNC HIV Cure Center at UNC-Chapel Hill in the United States of
America. He discovered a whole family of ingenol compounds that are currently
developed as latency reversal agents by targeting NK-?B signaling pathway. The
main goal of his laboratory is to discover the molecular mechanisms how HIV-1
achieves its dormant state and to translate our understanding of HIV latency
into therapeutic intervention. Several research programs are being undertaken
in his lab, including epigenetic (crotonylation) regulation of HIV latency,
host-virus interaction, and innate immune response to viral infection.
