THEME: "Breaking Barriers, Shaping the Future of Women"
Dear Esteemed Participants,
It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the Women’s Forum 2025, a prestigious event that gathers remarkable women leaders, professionals, and advocates from around the world. Together, we are creating a platform to exchange ideas, inspire innovation, and champion the pursuit of gender equality in all facets of society.
Your presence at this conference represents not only your commitment to advancing the role of women but also your dedication to making meaningful change within your communities, organizations, and countries. Over the days, we will engage in enriching discussions, share best practices, and explore transformative solutions to some of the most pressing issues of our time.
As a proud representative of Brazil, I am particularly eager to share insights on the progress and challenges faced in our fight against violence towards women. Brazil has implemented vital public policies aimed at combating this pervasive issue, including laws such as the Lei Maria da Penha and the recent Lei do Feminicídio, which have strengthened the legal framework for protecting women and holding perpetrators accountable. These advancements, while significant, are only the beginning of the work we must do globally to eradicate violence against women.
As the only woman from Brazil honored to speak at this forum, I look forward to contributing to this important global dialogue. Together, we can elevate the conversation around public policies and collective action needed to create a safer and more equitable world for all women.
We extend our deepest gratitude for your participation and contributions. Together, let’s lead the way in forging a future where the voices of women resonate more powerfully than ever before.
Welcome, and enjoy this exciting journey of collaboration and growth.
Warm regards,
Larissa Vitoriano

Hello Fellow Researchers,
I am truly excited to be part of the 3rd International Women's Forum with the theme of "Breaking Barriers, Shaping the Future of Women". I hope to bring the US perspective to themeeting with our analysis of severe maternal morbidity (SMM) in Georgia, a largeand racially diverse state in the Southeastern part of the US. As youknow, the US, despite its large and growing economy, lags behind otherindustrialized countries in many dimensions of women’s health and inparticular, in maternal outcomes. One reason for this is the use oflimited public funds for lower-income pregnant women and hence, lack of healthinsurance and early prenatal care. Our analysis indicates that the racial gapin SMM is largely related to intra-hospital processes especially for those women with public insurance. I hope to share some insights from the USand learn from other speakers on how other industrialized countries finance, deliver and monitor maternal health and thereby achieve far better outcomes than we do.
Best,
Kathleen Adams
