Biography

Huiping Zhang is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. He has a long history with the Yale University School of Medicine, where he completed his postdoc training and then served as a Research Associate Scientist (equivalent to Research Assistant Professor), Assistant Professor (tenure-track), and Research Scientist (equivalent to Research Associate Professor) before coming to Boston University. He is an editorial board member of academic journals such as the Journal of Addiction Research & Therapy, the Journal of Depression & Anxiety, and PLOS One. His research focused on genetic and epigenetic studies of substance use disorders (SUDs) and related psychiatric disorders and traits. He is currently the PI of two research grants (R01 and R21) from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) and one research grant from the Boston University Clinical Translational Science Institute (CTSI). Additionally, he is the subcontract PI of a R01 from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD).
