Title: Spaceflight-Informed Neuroprotection:Nutraceutical and Lifestyle Medicine Strategies for Healthy Brain Aging
Jacinda Cottee is a space health and performance researcher specialising in cognitive resilience, brain aging, and nutraceutical countermeasures for extreme environments (PhD Candidate, Swinburne University of Technology). She holds a Bachelor of Aviation, a Master’s of Space Science, and Graduate Diploma Nutrition, with a research focus on translating spaceflight neuroscience into preventative strategies for healthy brain aging on Earth. A retired airline pilot with over 8,000 flight hours, she brings rare operational insight into human performance under high-risk, cognitively demanding conditions. Jacinda’s work integrates space neuroscience, lifestyle medicine, and precision nutraceuticals to mitigate neuroinflammation, cognitive decline, and performance degradation. She has presented internationally on astronaut cognition, space nutrition, and lifestyle-based neuroprotection, including at NASA-HRP IWS. Her current work advances a space-derived neuroprotection framework aimed at extending cognitive healthspan and redefining aging through proactive brain resilience rather than reactive disease management.
