Fucoxanthin Promotes Longevity and Neuroprotection in Caenorhabditis elegans via DAF-16 and Autophagy Pathways

Biography

I am Sang-Kyu Park, a Professor in the Department of Medical Biotechnology of the College of Medical Sciences at Soonchunhyang University. I received my Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed my postdoctoral training at the Institute for Behavioral Genetics, University of Colorado at Boulder.

My research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of aging, longevity, and oxidative stress, primarily using the Caenorhabditis elegans model. I am particularly interested in identifying how dietary restriction and natural compounds, such as plant-derived flavonoids and ginsenosides, modulate lifespan and age-related diseases like Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. To date, I have authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications and registered numerous patents for anti-aging compositions. My goal is to translate these genetic insights into practical interventions for healthy aging.
