Biography

Monika I. Konaklieva is a professor of chemistry at American University, Washington, DC, and her training and experience are in the areas of synthetic organic chemistry and structural drug design.  Interdisciplinary projects are a main focus in the Konaklieva’s group, involving organic synthesis/medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, and structure-based drug design.

Abstract

Main interests in the area of organic synthesis and evaluation of new antibacterial, antiviral agents and lipoprotein metabolism modulators, as well as development of efficient and environmentally friendly synthetic approaches for their preparation.
