Title: Coronary Artery Aneurysm Interventional Management In Acs

Biography

In 2013, she graduated and began her career at SBCC Hospital’s Cardiac Center, where she honed her clinical skills over the course of five years. She then joined the KSMC Cardiac Center, serving for three years in both administrative capacities and as the acting supervisor of the catheterization laboratory. For the past four years, she has been employed at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center in Riyadh, where she currently serves as a Senior Cardiovascular Technologist.

Abstract

This poster presentation examines the interventional management of coronary artery aneurysms in acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Through a case-based review, it highlights diagnostic challenges, clinical implications, and the evolving role of percutaneous interventions in managing these rare and complex vascular lesions. Management strategies discussed range from conservative medical therapy to advanced endovascular techniques, including stent grafting and coil embolization.

The discussion integrates the latest guideline recommendations, presenting outcomes from the literature as well as clinical experience at a tertiary referral centre. A focused case study demonstrates the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in optimizing patient outcomes, emphasizes procedural considerations, and underscores the significance of post-intervention follow-up. Coronary artery aneurysms, although uncommon, present significant clinical dilemmas, especially when encountered in ACS. Treatment decisions must be tailored to each patient's unique anatomical and pathophysiological profile, considering comorbidities, rupture risk, and potential thrombotic complications.

Therapeutic decision-making often involves a multidisciplinary team, including interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, radiologists, and allied healthcare professionals. Together, they weigh the risks of conservative management—such as anti-platelet and anti-coagulation therapy—against the benefits and potential complications of intervention. Patient selection for interventional procedures hinges on anatomical location, size, growth rate, and the presence of symptomatic or hemodynamically significant lesions.
