Title: Synthesis and Characterization Techniques of Isoniazid - Pentacyclic Triterpenes Co-Crystal Systems:- A New Class of Pharmaceutical Active Scaffold.

Biography

Abstract

Organic cocrystal is a crystal engineering that is gaining interest across different discipline in recent times. The recent onslaughts COVID-19 Pandemic have come to the scientists as a challenge that effort must be made to discover more new therapeutic compound for use for mankind.  Our group has examined the potential in pentacyclic triterpene compound, particularly oleanolic acid and betulinic acid with interesting and dynamic broad spectrum of biological activities. Studies have equally shown that nanomaterials remain one of the most promising materials for modern and advance in the development of science, technology and innovation. In medicine particularly, cure and management of chronic diseases have been discovered through application of nanochemistry. Development of synthesis protocols for realising nanomaterials of over a range of sizes, shapes, and chemical compositions and good biological activities is therefore an important application of nanochemistry in medicine. The remarkable biological activity is dependent on physico-chemical properties of co-crystal systems involved has been fascinated and inspired by research activity in this direction.  In this presentation therefore, attention will be focused on the background information on the compounds involved, the synthetic methods to prepare a co-crystal system from the two solid organic compounds for better management and treatment of infectious diseases particularly tuberculosis, and its various characterization techniques will be discussed.
