Professor Jing Du
is mainly engaged in the study of cellular and molecular pathophysiology and
neuropsychopharmacology of depression, bipolar disorder, and suicide related
behaviors. In 1986, she received a bachelor's degree in baisic medicine from
the Department of Basic Medicine of Peking University. In 1992, she received a
doctorate in biology from Rutgers?the State
University of New Jersey in the United States. Then, in the laboratories of
Professor Chris McBain and Professor Bai Lu?she
studied neurodevelopmental biology in the Institute of Childhood and Human
Development at the National Institutes of Health. In 2001, under the
supervision of Dr. Husseini Manji, she began to lead a team as a staff
scientist in National Institute of Mental Health, National Institutes of Health
to conduct research on the treatment of depression, mania, and stress-related
mental diseases
