Muslims constitute a significant segment of the global population, and interest in mindfulness practices within this community is steadily growing. This study examines the concept of Islamic mindfulness, its integration within Muslim religious practices, and its implications for promoting mental health and well-being. Through an exploration of historical, religious, and contemporary psychological perspectives, the study analyzes how mindfulness aligns with Islamic teachings and cultural practices, particularly through rituals such as prayer, reflection, and other devotional acts.
Findings reveal that mindfulness has been a core element of Islamic spirituality for centuries, deeply rooted in principles that promote inner peace, emotional resilience, and present-moment awareness through non-judgmental acceptance of thoughts and emotions. These practices are evident across various aspects of daily life and are integral to fostering mental and emotional well-being.
The study highlights the potential of Islamic mindfulness as an effective public health intervention that can enhance mental health outcomes and emotional resilience among Muslims. Integrating mindfulness practices within everyday life offers a practical and culturally appropriate approach to improving overall well-being and advancing public health efforts.
