Visa Information

Visa Information for Attendees – Conference in Singapore

Overview

International attendees traveling to Singapore for the conference may require a visa depending on their nationality. Singapore has a streamlined visa policy, and many countries are eligible for visa-free short-term visits, while others must apply for a Short-Term Visit Pass (STVP) visa before arrival.

All visa decisions and immigration approvals are managed by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

1. Visa Requirements

Participants should check whether they need a visa based on their passport country:

  • Visa-free entry (visa-exempt countries):
  • Many nationalities (e.g., most EU countries, UK, USA, Australia, Japan) can enter Singapore without a visa for short stays (typically 30–90 days).
  • Visa-required countries:
  • Travelers from certain countries must apply for a Singapore entry visa before traveling.

You are advised to verify requirements well in advance of travel through official channels.

2. Conference Invitation Letter

Once your conference registration is confirmed, the organizing committee can issue an official invitation letter, which may include:

  • Participant’s full name and passport details
  • Conference name, dates, and venue
  • Purpose of visit
  • Confirmation of registration/payment

This letter supports your visa application but does not guarantee visa approval.

3. Visa Application Process (if required)

If you need a visa, follow these general steps:

Apply through a Singapore overseas mission (embassy/consulate) or authorized visa agent

Submit required documents:

  • Valid passport (minimum 6 months validity)
  • Completed visa application form
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Conference invitation letter
  • Proof of accommodation and travel itinerary
  • Financial proof (if required)
  • Pay the visa processing fee
  • Await approval (typically 3–10 working days)

4. Entry Approval & Arrival in Singapore

Visa approval does not guarantee entry

Final entry permission is granted at the port of entry by immigration officers

Travelers must comply with Singapore’s immigration and health regulations at the time of travel

5. Important Notes

Apply for your visa at least 3–4 weeks before travel

Ensure your passport has sufficient validity and blank pages

Do not overstay your permitted duration

Check for any updated travel or health advisories before departure
