Biography

Mark Porter is a 4th generation Fremantle resident who travelled in S.E. Asia, India, East Africa and North America as a young man before returning to Australia for tertiary studies. He obtained a science degree from University of Western Australia majoring in Human Biology & Anatomy, and Human Movement & Recreation Studies; then obtained Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Mark has been a registered Psychologist for 25 years, and an accredited Yoga teacher (IYTA) for 33 years.

Mark implemented and managed the first specialist residential treatment service in Western Australia for the treatment of complex substance abuse with comorbid mental health issues (1997- 2005). Since 2006, Mark implemented then managed the most successful and enduring MST program in Australia. The program has been recognized with multiple state and national prevention and treatment awards.
