Biography

Clara Navarro Veiga is a Sustainability Manager at DS Smith, working in the Recycling Division. DS Smith is a leading provider of sustainable packaging solutions, paper products and recycling services worldwide.

Clara has an MSc in sustainability and has a keen interest and passion for Recycling and the Circular Economy, having done her MSc thesis on this topic. In her work with DS Smith Clara has specialized in paper and card recycling, advocating for changes in the system that will help increase recycling rates, from collection methods of paper for recycling to design of packaging. She was heavily involved in the creation of a UK-specific briefing paper, which highlights how separate collections are essential for better paper and card recycling, and a Europe wide report on key recommendations to get to a 90% paper and cardboard packaging recycling rate in Europe.
