Biography

Dr. Neda SoleimanvandiAzar is an Assistant Professor of Health and Welfare within the Department of Community and Family Medicine at the School of Medicine, Iran University of Medical Sciences. 

Research interests encompass a broad range of topics within the fields of public health, social welfare, and health equity. Her primary areas of focus include:

Social Issues and Vulnerable Populations: Investigating social problems and related harms, social capital, social support networks, social welfare systems, and their impact on health outcomes. She has specific expertise in research related to HIV/AIDS, female sex workers (FSWs), child laborers and street children, addiction, and cancer.

Health Equity and Social Determinants of Health: Measuring health inequalities and advocating for health justice. She examines access to outpatient and inpatient health services among vulnerable populations, with a focus on identifying and addressing the social determinants of health that contribute to disparities.

Social Network Analysis and Multi-level Analysis: Applying advanced analytical techniques such as social network analysis and multi-level modeling to understand the complex relationships between social factors and health.

Health Economics: Studying the cost-effectiveness of health interventions and programs.

Health Policy and Planning: Developing and evaluating health policies and programs aimed at promoting social welfare and preventing social harms, particularly within the Iranian context.
