Title: Power Home as an Author Developed Pedagogical and Psychoeducational Framework for Well Being From Prevention to Supporting Adolescents After Crisis and Trauma

Biography

Abstract

This chapter introduces Power Home, a pedagogical and psychoeducational framework developed by Marzena Agata Folusz and used for approximately six years in her professional practice, including her private practice, with children and adolescents after experiences of crisis and trauma. It builds on the author’s earlier conceptual paper on Power Home, published online in August 2026, and extends that work through a comparative analysis of two distinct but related contexts: preventive efforts to promote well-being and pedagogical support for adolescents after difficult experiences. The chapter examines how the framework’s four areas—physical health, psychological well-being, relationships and social support, and the living environment—can structure reflection on young people’s needs and resources in both contexts. The comparison considers the goals and intended audiences of these efforts, the role and competency boundaries of the practitioner, and situations in which referral to specialized support is appropriate. The chapter is conceptual and practice-oriented. It draws on an analysis of the framework’s assumptions and reflection on its application; it does not present an empirical study or evidence of effectiveness. Power Home is presented neither as a diagnostic tool nor as a clinical treatment method. The chapter proposes criteria for distinguishing broader preventive efforts from individualized support after a crisis and identifies next steps for evaluating the framework. These include clarifying how it should be applied and examining its comprehensibility, acceptability, and usefulness across educational and support settings.
