Biography

Joann Nathan is a registered nurse with the Malaysian Nursing Board and a certified coach. She is the Assistant Director of the Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre at IMU University, Kuala Lumpur. With more than two decades of experience in health professions education, she has led innovations in clinical training, communication skills development, and simulation-based education. Joann was instrumental in the conception and establishment of the Immersive Learning Space at IMU, designed to enhance experiential education and reflective practice. As the second author of this article, she confirms responsibility for its conception, design, analysis, interpretation, and manuscript preparation. Her work continues to focus on advancing immersive and simulation methodologies to strengthen teaching, learning, and assessment across diverse health programs.
